Two headdresses will be constructed for two of the final images, Image 2 ‘Plastic isn’t Fantastic’ and Image 3 ‘Greed is a nasty Business.’ Both looks aspire to create elaborate headdresses that will become the focal points of both images. Sketches were designed using inspiration from Pinterest. Both images aim to achieve different objectives.
Image 2 ‘Plastic isn’t Fantastic’ aims to showcase an excessive amount of plastic in one images to emulate the amount of plastic waste from fashion that pollutes land and oceans. The idea behind the headdress is to create an editorial concept using plastic and wire to create an organza style piece. Plastic wrap, which is thick compared to cling film, will be used and will be layered to create texture and add bulk to the headdress. The wire will provide structure to the piece and will also further add texture. The headdress should look like a headdress rather than large amounts of plastic attached to the models head, so the wire is important to avoid this. Sketches mapped out initial ideas and helped visualise how the piece would look. Making the headdress oversized will aid visually in the look, as you will draw focus to the amount of plastic. Fulfilling all these objectives will aid in bringing the overall concept together.

Image 3 ‘Greed is a Nasty Business’ aims to showcase the greed for money within the fast fashion business. Using dollar bills within this look should give this message. This headdress will be made entirely out of paper money bought from amazon. Moreover, origami will be involved using the paper money. The makeup designer believes this will make an impactful and bold statement piece that holds focus. Support will be needed in order to hold the designs form. The headdress will take the shape of a large crown made using card to give it structure and strength. Time and consideration went into the planning of the headdress as it involved intricate design ideas and a clever and thought provoking meaning.
